Wyoming Seminary Upper School - Kingston, Pennsylvania

Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School has engaged Bakker & Lewis as the architect of record on a number of renovation and historic preservation projects.  Over three years the exterior of Swetland, Fleck and Darte Halls was carefully restored.  Masonry Preservations Services performed a complete masonry restoration, replacing broken brick and stone sills, installing steel reinforcing at window arches, and repointing and cleaning the entire exterior.  All the deteriorated wood windows, were replaced with clad wood windows that preserved the historic character of the building while increasing energy-efficiency by reducing heat loss.

As a separate project, the interior of the Kirby Library on the upper school campus was completely renovated.  Updating the operation of the old facility with the addition of a computer docking station, an information bar and all new finishes and furnishings. New book stacks were installed with improved lighting throughout, making the spaces more intimate and inviting for students to spend time studying and interacting in the library.
