Bucha Residence - Harveys Lake,PA

The very narrow and precipitously sloped site was the biggest challenge of this project.  Gaining vehicular access from Lakeside Drive below and pedestrian access from a private lane with additional guest parking on the uphill side, made siting the house quite difficult.  But the long views of Point Breeze across Harveys Lake made possible by the three level design, made it all worthwhile.  The extended deck along the front of the house shades the lower level family room from the harsh western sun, and screens the view of busy traffic along Lakeside Drive from the great room at the second level.  The sleeping rooms at the top level literally have a treetop quality.
