Ryan Residence - Harveys Lake, Pennsylvania

This summer cottage was converted into a year round home with style and grace.  The living space was nearly doubled while perserving the original bungalow scale of the exterior.  The inadequate pier foundation was replaced by a full basement flooded with natural light from generous light wells.  Provisions were made for a family room, two bedrooms and a bath at this lower level.  Careful detailing was necessary to waterproof the new basement and manage stormwater runoff from the hill behind the home.  The upper level was upgraded with a redesigned kitchen, bath and master suite with craftsman trim detailing and woodwork throughout.
